Xerox 062-277 — Document feeder communication failure

What this error means

The document feeder stopped talking to the main controller — a cable/board fault, distinct from mechanical 005- jams. Power cycle; then it's a harness/board service.

Symptoms

• Feeder dead (not jammed)
• Error at power-on

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Power off fully, 2 minutes, on
2. Check the feeder's visible connection points if accessible

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
