Kyocera error codes, explained
TASKalfa and ECOSYS copiers and printers. Codes below: C-codes and F-codes (C6000, F0xx…). Each guide covers what the code means, what you can safely try yourself, when to stop and call a technician, and what the repair typically costs.
Kyocera C6000 — Fuser heating failure
The fuser didn't heat. On Kyocera machines this frequently latches and requires a maintenance-mode reset even after the underlying cause (often a failed fuser unit or triac) is fixed.
Kyocera C6050 — Abnormally low fuser temperature
The fuser temperature (as read by its thermistor) fell abnormally low during operation. Causes include a failing fuser heater, thermistor installation/connector faults, or a tripped thermostat — a low-temperature fault detected via the sensor, not necessarily a bad sensor itself. Latches like C6000.
Kyocera C3100 — Scanner carriage error
The scan carriage failed to home — stuck carriage, shipping lock, belt, or sensor.
Kyocera F-codes — Controller error family (F000, F040, F248…)
Two distinct groups: F000 is a communication failure between the main controller board and the operation panel (hardware-leaning — cables, boards, memory). Higher F-codes like F040/F041/F248 are controller software errors, frequently triggered by a specific print job (e.g., a malformed PDF) that can re-trigger on every boot until the queue is purged.
